Red Shoulder
Red Shoulders are often noisy. They fly through the woods screaming to flush prey. Often they will hunt in pairs, with one flushing the prey and the other hiding in a tree ready to swoop down.
| Vultures are birds of prey, but not raptors because they don't crush their prey with their feet. They are actually scavengers, and rarely, if ever, kill for food. They are often considered raptors because their Asian and European cousins are full raptors, with crushing claws and beaks. New world vultures are different. | ![]() |
